Peer Advocates


Learning Support

  • SI-Peer led, group, study sessions led by an SI leader who is a UCF undergrad student who has previously taken the course and is attached to a student’s Gen Ed course OR
  • Academic Coaching – Assigned a peer academic coach with whom they meet in a group 1x per week. Coaches help students develop academic strategies personalized to the student’s classes and learning styles. In sessions, coaches will also help students stay on track and accountable for their academic progress and success at the university. Topics include time management, note-taking, how to talk to an instructor, study habits, procrastination, etc. (Human Species and Enjoyment of Music have ac coaching)

Peer Mentoring

  • Assigned PMs meet with groups of students 1x per week to help manage expectations and the transition to college. PM topics include transition, goal setting, financial literacy, campus resources, and overall transition to the university.
